A Day With Debbie

Wow! What a night---Lindsay calls at 12:30, mom, you and dad better get up, the weather is really bad! We knew going ot bed around 11ish that there were some severe storms in the area---but when those sirens went off and you could hear the whistle in the wind you knew it was bad out there...we had a few shingles blown off but there were lots of trees down, some roofs blown off, buildings twisted...Coca Cola on Franklin Drive is demolished as is Kishes Car Care Center, Time Warner Cable, lots of people without electricity, restaurants with windows blown out, electric poles and telephone poles down all over the city....Lindsay & Mark had their family in the washroom with pillows and blankets, Leigh & Terrill had their family in the bath also---
The good thing is that there was no one hurt or killed!

poor Madalyn, she had to go for her 5 yr old check up on Wed, 5 shots to start school....
Kindegarten Round-up is tonight,she will get to see her new school, meet the teachers....

Amber has her Nursing entrance test today...I am hoping the best and she can get that algebra down!

I remember the night before, watching "Valley of the Dolls" on tv---then your dad coming in from his new job at Otis Engineering...he was working nights at the time, he was so tired! But off to Irving Community we went. Labor was not as bad as I thought it would be, but back then they gave you meds to help with the pain and I was floating! Your dad kept going in and out, he did not like it when I was in pain. He would come in and ask me about a name to name you, most I remember I did not like...but then he mentioned Amber and I knew that would be your name.
You were born at 1:53PM and yes, your daddy held you first! But I got my time in quickly! Both your papas and memes were there to welcome you, you were the first for papa & meme Adams---how proud they were of you!
I was in the hospital for 3 days with you then we went to meme & papa Adams to stay, then got an apartment a few weeks later...
I remember an older man stopping me one day when I had you out walking, saying, what a pretty little sack of sugar you have there! You reminded me of a Kewpie baby doll---meme kept you dressed in sweet litle dresses, you loved going to her house and also to Bible class... you were a good sleeper, still are, kind of a picky eater tho...potty trained early and easy. You became a big sister very soon after your first birthday to Cameron and you grew up very close to each other.
You were my baby doll and I had so much fun with you!
I am so proud of you, you will always hold such a special place in my heart, being my firstborn, a precious little girl!
You have always been so tender, kind-hearted, and loving!
Now, you are a mommy, to my first grand-daughter, Kaitlyn, that I love so much too!
Enjoy life, keep your tender heart and reach for the stars...always remember that your dad and I will always be here for you and love and cherish you very much and are so proud of you ! Keep your trust and faith in the Lord!

Friday, Cam came down for the night, he was not feeling well but we enjoyed him being here...
Mark/Lindsay and the girlies came over for dinner, we grilled steak...we all sat outside in the back watching the girls play with their Bubba...
Monday, Loraly went to the dr, she has a bad ear infection---Cam went to the dr also, he got a big shot, he has a sinus infection....

70 years old today, April23---
I wish things had of gone better for you today, but most of it was out of my hands...I promise when you come to Waco, I will give you the best late birthday party ever....complete with your favorite,Italian Cream Cake and a shopping trip to get you something really special!

Easter, April 16, 2006
A nice day, we went to church, then home to cook...Papa & Myrtle came to Waco to visit and Lindsay, Mark and the girls came to eat...
We had a big egg hunt complete with eggs with money in them....broke confetti eggs on each other and made a big mess, but messes are made to clean up!
Leigh & Terrill and the boys stopped by for a few minutes...admired Madalyns chick....
Cam did not get to come this week-end like he had hoped, maybe we will see him in a few weeks.
Amber & Katy stayed home also, Rogers mom was there for the holiday, so they were there with her.
Back to work again this week, was a nice 4 days with Mike...

We got up this morning, Mike was off today, decided to drive to Austin to go back to Garden Ridge to pick up a picture for our mantle that we had seen a few weeks ago--- it was gone, all the way to Austin and all I bought was a $1 over the door wreath hanger----
Ate lunch at Bill Miller BBQ, then drove back to Waco...
Madalyn called me, she and Loraly got a new baby chick, named Sarah....it is yellow....Lindsay commented that when it was bigger they would take it to a pond and let it go---a pond? Lindsay, it is a chick, not a duck...haha
Wonder how long it cheeped tonight before they put it in the garage?
Tonight, we had a sandwich with mark & Lindsay and the girlies at Schmaltzs then to get snow cones---fun and yummy!

Looking forward to that cruise in November!

After 3 1/2 weeks, Matthew is finally home from the hospital...He still is sick, and very tired...he has a PIC line to administer his antibiotics and lots of rest, maybe some school next week, depending on how he does...white blood counts are in normal range now and no fever for 3 days----all from a staph infection that no one can figure out how he got ---

What a fun week-end...lets see, gas round trip $70---parking $40---3 caps, 2 hairties $75, Mikes smile, priceless....
Lots of people there---we got tickets thru Mayflower, division of Dougs company, McCollisters--had access to th Hospitality tent, we got breakfast, snacks, lunch plus a goodie bag full of goodies...pit passes but it was so crowded over there....met Brain Vickers, he signed our caps from the goodie bag.
Bumper Sticker we saw---"Driver of this vehicle carries no cash, he is married..."
Someone up about 6 rows got very drunk, his "friends" wrote all over his face then colored in his teeth, all this after he had passed out! Another die hard race fan had shaved a #20(Tony Stewart) in his hairy back, was not a pretty site to see!
Kasey Kahne passed Tony Stewart and WON, sorry Jeff Gordon, maybe next time but least Tony didn't win...
Got back to Waco around 9, was in bed asleep by 10....
Also, we enjoyed our short visit with Doug and Dale on Saturday--we went to see "The Inside Man", very differant than I would of ever thought--- then out to Macaronis, no sauce on my fettucine but after I finally got my sauce it was pretty good...

I got Mike Nascar tickets for Valentines day, well the big day has approached and we are ready for it!
We are going to Carrollton tomorrow to stay over-night with our good buds, Dale & Doug, gonna take in a movie, then off to Macaronis for dinner to celebrate Dougs birthday...another blog....enjoying our good friends company.
Then early Sunday morn off to Texas Speedway for an exciting day of racing...Doug got us tickets for the Mayflower Hospitality tent, breakfast, snack and dinner included...not to mention pit pass, and meeting Brian Vickers...and even a goodie bag, wonder what will be in it?

it's all over now---but we had a great week! Except for today...made a trip to Arlington to go to SixFlags---we were rained out!
On Monday, Lindsay took Madalyn for her kidney x-ray and Loraly stayed with us...we went to Taco Bell and WalMart then back to Lindsays to drop off Loraly---Madalyn was feeling great even after anaesthesia, so Madalyn, Kaitlyn, & I went to see "Shaggy Dog", they loved it! Madalyn stayed overnight with us that night...
Tuesday, we slept in,all of us went and had our nails done, Kaitlyns are green, Madalyns are pink, mine-just filled --- met up with Lindsay at PeterPipers for lunch...Madalyn went for her 5yr old pics...
Wednesday, we met Mike at our chinese place for lunch, then out to the Greenhouse to pick up some plants...also, we surprised Kaitlyn with a new mountain bike, we rode for a long time that afternoon.
Thursday, Kaitlyn and I went to Chuck E Cheese, then over to walk around Toys R Us...
Friday, Kaitlyn and I went to see "Aqua Marine" after eating lunch at Chick Fillet...then out to pick up Brittney, so we could all go to Six Flags today...oh well, at least we got to go eat at a mexican restaurant before leaving Arlington...
It was hard to drop off Kaitlyn today, I miss her being here with me....but I know her mommy missed her too, she is already over at Kendalls playing tonight!

A special prayer for Matthew French, Mikes sisters 11 yr old son--he is in the hospital(in Virginia) with a very bad staph infection...

7 years ago today, meme passed from this life...she was worn from Parkinsons and several strokes had just took everything from her. She died alone at a home health care facility during the night at some point...we all miss her and wish we could of been there with her and held her hand and said our fairwells. But Meme was a good Christian wife and mother and was ready to go home. She loved the Lord with her heart. We all know that.
She would of been proud of her grandchildren and these sweet great-grandchildren.
We all miss her very much, especially that smile when we would walk into her room to visit!

yesterday, Madalyn & Loraly were outside with me playing, I was sitting on the bench, Loraly saw my red toe nail polish---she started saying, mom, owies on toe, then had to kiss all my toes....
Right now, Loraly is going thru the phase of everything scaring her, the train whistle, planes, loud trucks---she says---mom, hold you, I scared!!!!

Kaitlyns friend Kendal, parents seperated last week-end...so kendal told Kaitlyn about it in school Wednesday---Kaitlyn really likes Ken and Jill, she stays with them a lot on week-ends as Kendal does with Kaitlyn.... so, at church Wednesday night Kaitlyn asked to pray for Ken & Jill, that they can get back together and work things out....

Happy Birthday Madalyn....5 years today!
I can remember the moment I first saw your face, the moment I got to hold you in my arms...you are such a beautiful little girl and soon will start kindegarten!
I love playing leggos with you, playing family with you, taking you to Chuck E Cheese and to McDonalds and Burger King....and to the museum.
I loved your first dance recital, you were a princess and we were all so proud of you!
Keep that pretty smile and always know that your ma loves you so much!

I was hooked!!! But I am glad it is over too! Don't know if either girl was the right one or not...time will tell! Mawanna or Sarah....Sarah won his heart....
This week-end Mike & I spent a lot of time looking for leather living room furniture, we have it narrowed down to one now---
It was cold and rainy Fri &Sat, but today(Tuesday) it was gorgeous outside...we ate at On The Border Sat afternoon with Mark & Lindsay, was good... Lindsay & I went to Dillards, I got Kaitlyn several outifts, she really liked her jean skirt and jacket----I am trying to plan out Spring Break for me and Kaitlyn--Lindsay will be off that week and spending precious time with her girls...I hope whatever I plan, we will have a ball together!

Mike was in Greenville for a few days----so, Lindsay and Mark were re-doing Madalyns room for her big "5" birthday, she is getting a big girls bed complete with pink canopy,pink bedspread, and pink walls---what Madalyn wanted! So, Madalyn and Loraly stayed overnight with ma...we had cheese pizza, m&m blizzards, and watched American Idol, and not to forget a bubble bath....bedtime---well, I slept with 2 little girls, a bunny and blankie, pooh bear, strawberry shortcake blankie, a Cabbage Patch puppy and a poodle--- did I say I slept!
Tonight, the Saxons are taking Madalyn out to Fuddruckers for her birthday, they were out of town for her party so they told her they would take her anywheres she wanted---Leigh picked her up this morning and took her and Paul to the Mayborn Museum to play and eat then home for the afternoon....

On Friday nite, Cam and his new friend Angela came to Waco---we all went to Texas Roadhouse to eat...
Saturday, we celebrated Madalyns "5" birthday a few weeks early...she had a movie theatre party, complete with cupcakes, pizza, a few friends, and to see the new release, "Curious George"! Everyone had a great time, even with the cold and ice outside!
After the movie we all came back to our house for dinner, I made chicken enchiladas...the girls played hard!
Sunday, we stayed in, cold and icy out...Cam & Angela left for Greenville around noon....
Daytona 500, need I say more.

To My Sweetheart Mike, thank you for the pretty flowers, you always come thru for me!
For your love, for always being there for me, for our 3 children----I don't know what I would do without you! You are always so gentle and caring with me. I love the twinkle in your eyes when one of the grand-daughters hugs you, when you skip along with one of them in public, and always agreeing to go to Chuck E. Cheese even if you don't like their pizza! And for the unconditional love you show our children.

I am so proud of each of you, for all your accomplishments in life. Thank you for always being so respectful to your parents and loving us with all our flaws...even spoiling the girlies!
To Amber, for being a great mommy to Kaitlyn, for being there for her always and the courage to raise a child alone and being truthful about her real dad...I am proud of you for going to nursing school, you will make a great nurse, you have such a kind, gentle way with people...

To Cam, for being strong and going after what you want...for wanting that special someone to share your life with, you will make a great husband and daddy to someone special one day.....I am proud you were determined to go to school and finish up the 4 yr degree, I know it was tough at times! I am proud you took a job out of town, all alone, and are doing a great job!

To Lindsay, for being a great mom, for wanting to be home with the girls and just be a mommy!
You have such an ability to do things so creative. I know how much you love your little family!

To Kaitlyn, Madalyn, & Loraly, you are all 3 the best grand-daughters in the world and also the prettiest! I love you!
